Eric Boulanger
Independent Filmmaker
I got my education in studio art and film at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. There I gained experience in the various forms of time-based media ranging from documentary film and animation to virtual reality, as well as their possible applications in traditional and non-traditional forms. I was also a video intern at UAB Digital Media and Innovative Learning. As an intern, I was part of a team who filmed and edited projects for the Department of Government, Department of Biology, and multiple other speeches and events around campus.
I worked for about five years for Kevin Wayne Films (now known as Southbound Studios) as an Associate Graphic Designer, Video Editor, Behind the Scenes Videographer, and Special Effects Technician. My duties there included filming and editing for promotion of music videos such as Chelsey Whild’s “Fire”, and creating CGI for films and series such as the Amazon Prime Video series “Blood Type”, an official selection of the 2015 Austin Webfest. I also gave my creative input to film poster design. My most recent work was for the award winning short film entitled “Pain.Kil.lers”, where I was a Producer. I aim to tell a wide variety of stories using all the various tools and audio/visual techniques at my disposal. I am always looking for interesting photography, cinematography, and editing opportunities in the Birmingham area or anywhere I may be able to help your project. Please contact me to discuss arrangements if you’re interested.
